Nukuroa Guesthouse is an excellent base from which to enjoy the unique island of Mitiaro. With its population at no more than 150 people, everyone is friendly and open and their smiles are genuine and unrehearsed.
Imagine traveling to a tropical island where the population is under 200 and where everyone knows everyone. Mitiaro is one of the smallest of the Cook Islands and there is still a way of life here that has not changed much over the years. People still share their catch after a day out fishing. They still call out to passersby to join them for dinner and children are quite safe playing on the open streets
